Retro Survival Craft
Survive. Dig through time. A turn-based survival roguelike for iPhone.
You wake beside cold ashes with no memory of which century you belong to. Time has broken, and every age of history has sunk into the earth like layers of rock. Keep yourself fed, watered and warm in the valley, then dig down through prehistoric caves, sunken tombs and a drowned cove. Each holds a relic. Bring all three to the Root Gate and mend time.
Survive the night
Chop, knap flint, hunt and forage. Build a campfire before dark: nights are cold, and things hunt.
Dig through the ages
Raptor caves, mummy tombs and a sea with tides, each a different age of history buried underground.
Era Drift
Things change to fit the age around them. A spear carried into the tombs becomes a bronze khopesh.

How do I play?
Tap a tile to walk there, and tap trees, rocks, water and other things next to you to use them. Swipe to take a single step. Long-press anything to look at it. Pinch to zoom. The ⓘ button at the top of the screen explains the controls and the goal again.
How do I survive my first night?
Chop a few trees and knap flint from a grey boulder, then open Build and place a campfire (3 logs and 1 flint). Stay beside it until dawn: the fire keeps you warm and keeps night spiders away. Drink at the river and pick berries during the day.
Why did my item turn into something else?
That's Era Drift. Every layer underground is a different age, and things you carry slowly change into that age's version of themselves: a purple bar under an item shows it filling up. Raw materials and amber never drift. Items in a chest keep their own time, and an amber anchor stops drift near it.
I can't find the way down.
On the surface, a cyan arrow at the edge of the screen points to the cave mouth. Underground the map starts dark: explore until you spot the way down, and the arrow will point to it from then on. Tapping into the dark walks you to the nearest edge you've already seen.
How do I win?
Find three relics: the Heart of Amber inside a Great Fossil in the caves (free it with a bone pick), the Sun Disk in the tombs' treasure chamber, and the Drowned Chronometer in the cove's sea chest. Carry all three to the Root Gate on the cove's beach, go through, and use the Loom at the centre of the Root.
Is my game saved?
Yes, automatically, every few turns and whenever you leave the app. There is one run at a time: when you die or win, that run ends and the next one is a new world. To start over early, tap ⓘ and choose Abandon this run. Saves are kept on your iPhone only, so deleting the app removes them; they're included in your regular iPhone backups.
Can I turn the sound off?
Tap the speaker button at the top of the screen to mute the game. It also follows your iPhone's silent switch, and plays alongside your own music.
